Shuttle’s XH81V is a compact 3L media player that feature robust performance and can be customized to drive highly interactive kiosk, vending machine, and POS applications. The XH81 supports 4th generation Intel® Haswell and Haswell Refresh 65W processors and delivers 4K video content. In addition to a full I/O interface, the XH81V can be configured with either a slim ODD.

I am very familiar with both Shuttle products and TheBookPC. I specify the Shuttle products for use in my companies medical products. We also buy from TheBookPC. It was because of this I decided to purchase the Shuttle XHB1V for my home use to play 4K video on my Vizio 49" 4K TV. It did just fine.

I really enjoyed how simple it was to find the PC I was looking for, the ease of configuration, and speed of delivery. I wanted to find a pc with sufficient power, RAM, and enough network adapters to support a UTM firewall installation. I was initially looking to install and configure Sophos UTM, but had trouble with the install and went with untangle - works great. More than enough power and nice, small footprint to fit in my home network cabinet.

I spec'd this one run all my IP wired and wireless cameras using Blue Iris and interfacing with another Shuttle 61 running my Home Automation and Security system. It runs 24/7 displaying to a 24 inch monitor. It can also display to my 60 inch HDTV with the push of a  button.

Everything went well with the sale.

There were two unhappy times:  Understanding the monitor interfaces and never being told there is an optional VGA port, AND

What's with the two Ethernet ports?  The best news to be had about dual Ethernet ports is that they make the machines "Righties," or "Lefties."

Once again the two flapper doors in the front of the machines got yanked and stored in the boxes. Why not just forget them?

All-in-all a very good machine and a top notch seller.
We'll be back!
